We can get the shot
No matter the weather
Embrace mother nature’s gift on your unique day
I truly believe each day is unique artwork from mother nature to you, just as each couple is unique. Mother nature and all her fury can be frustrating and beautiful all at the same time, but don’t worry, I’ve got you.
Luckily (or unluckily?), I’ve had several experiences with sessions in bad weather and know how to make the best of it. Rain, blizzards, wind storms, dust storms, wildfires, extreme heat, extreme cold, lightning, you name it.
And funny enough, a lot of these “bad weather” sessions end up being some of my most epic and popular images!
See some of these moody mother nature images below!
In the rain
Rain is doable, our enemy is time. If you don’t want to get wet I usually bring a clear umbrella (to still let the light in on your face) and photoshop it out. We just need to work quicker so you don’t get soaked!
If you are willing to get wet the images get very romantic and sexy and playful! It’s like a scene out of a movie but you have to be a little bit crazy (just like me!).
In a blizzard
Snow is GORGEOUS and one of my favorites to shoot in! It looks like glitter in the air but it doesn’t get you wet immediately so we have a little more time to play with!
The only change to plans might be good snow boots, coat, and umbrella for walking from place to place!
storm is coming
When a storm is coming the sky throws a tantrum, it makes for amazing light and cloud conditions! We can get anything from rainbows and dark dramatic skies, to fog and mist.
We will want to watch the storm’s direction and any weather warnings to avoid lightning! I have apps that give us a 10 mile radius warning.
in a wind storm
Wind is arguably the hardest to deal with because it can make hair fly like crazy. It just means we need to work with the wind. For the most part it’s still doable, luckily Photoshop can help a little.
But when the wind picks up the dress or softly throws the hair it really creates stunning movement and a cinema feeling!
And it really is true! Rain on your wedding day is good luck!
