It’s time to start planning

your elopement

No matter the reason for your elopement, this day is about your love and your vision. I’m here to start bridging gaps and make this dream possible, and this memory unforgettable.

Your story, your way

You are writing your love story, it comes pages at a time, and your elopement is a defining chapter. It should represent who you are as a couple and artfully paint your relationship and your hearts in a place where you feel a little more connected to the alluring earth we find ourselves on.

I’m here to add pictures to the story.

This adventure (and the images that come with it) should instantly bring back the smells, the slow shared breaths, and the light around you. That’s why you find yourself here, let’s find that vision in your mind and make it happen.

The Hardest part…

Where do I elope?!

When you have the ENTIRE lush world to choose from, this can feel like an overwhelming decision!

You might already have a place that has inspired your heart, I truly feel we can have a personal connection with nature and unlock our souls when we are in it.

BUT

If you don’t have a spot in mind, start with thinking about what you’d like to see? Mountains? Beaches? Forests? Lakes? Waterfalls? Islands? This can help narrow your search.

Other considerations that might help you narrow things down are budget (think plane tickets and lodging), amount of guests if any, time of year, or bucket list places!

See my favorite recommendations below!

The best part about hiring me is…

My photoshop skills

People in the background? Gone. Hair out of place? Fixed. Dirt on your dress? Gone. Double chin? Rolls? flat hair? All fixed if you wish, and it’s already included. I’ve won several awards for my editing and am in the top 1% of photoshop editors in the world. Again, all of this, for you.

What can I do during an elopement?

Ceremony. Vows. Wedding pictures. But what else is worth photographing?

This is where you make this an ADVENTURE. An experience. A chance to curate the day around the two of you, instead of dozens or maybe even hundreds of traditional wedding guests.

Elopements are amazing because they have no expectations, no boundaries, and no set schedule. We can craft an intentional once-in-a-lifetime experience that you can take with you through the rest of your life.

Adventure Activities

The cornerstone of your elopement

What can our ceremony look like?

One of the best parts about elopements and destination weddings is rules/tradition can go out the window! We can make this unique to you and your relationships, either adding in the traditional wedding elements or creating your own. No one else will have a day like yours.

So what can you add in?

Letters from loved ones

Just because you are eloping it doesn’t mean important family or loved ones can’t be a part of your day. Have them write letters to be read during your ceremony as a way to feel their spirit.

Sand Pouring

Meant to represent merging your lives together, each of you pour different sand types in layers into a vase. You can even use sand or soil from the location of your elopement if is is legally allowed.

Champaign pop

This is, above all else, a celebration! The way the two of you found each other and the safety you two found in each other is worth celebrating! Grab a drink, shake it, pop it, drink it, have fun! It should be full of fun!

Ring exchange

This is still a powerful and meaningful symbol in a marriage, and can absolutely be a part of your elopement ceremony!

You can even tie a stand of grass from your elopement location on their finger as a way to connect you to the earth around you. (And store or save that cute peice of grass forever  as a precious memory!)

Vow Exchange

You know how you feel about them, they know how they feel about you, but there is something about putting it into words, permanent and vulnerable, that is absolutely worth doing on your elopement day. Our goal is to make them cry! Haha

Plant something

Plant a tree, a flower, a bush, a seed. Something to take home, (or even something native to plant at the ceremony site). It can be a symbol of your love, alive and in need of constant care and growth.

Hand Fasting

Your ceremony can be much more than just holding hands and saying words. Incorporate meaningful practices or items that mean something to YOU. Hand fasting, water pouring, or I even have had a Harry Potter unbreakable vow and it was so much fun.

First Dance

Take a moment after your ceremony to hold each other, share the same breath, the same air, listen to the world arond you and just dance. Take that moment to be the only two people on earth. Memorize the smells and the sounds.

I even like to use a long zoom lens to give you two space during moments like this. Giving you privacy while still being able to give you the breathtaking images.

Self solemnize

In the states listed below (and hopefully more soon!) you don’t need an officiant, you can marry yourselves!

Colorado, Pennsylvania, Washington DC, Wisconsin

Vow Exchange

You know how you feel about them, they know how they feel about you, but there is something about putting it into words, permanent and vulnerable, that is absolutely worth doing on your elopement day. Our goal is to make them cry! Haha

Bring Guests!

Elopements don’t mean you can’t bring anyone with you!! Bring a wedding party. Bring your family, friends, pets. If you can’t imagine your day without them, bring them if possible! This can also help you narrow down a location.

Officiant?

Bring a friend or family member with you to officiate!

Hire someone local to the area to officiate (may be required if this is a legal out of country wedding)

I can bring someone to officiate! Inquire about that with me=)

OR legally get married at home, and do a vow exchange or mock ceremony at the elopement locatin.

First Look

There’s something special about seeing your loved one for the first time, all buttoned up and glowing, and knowing you are looking at the rest of your life.

At the beginning of the elopement, do a first look to see each other for the first time and show off all your hard work.

Live Music

See if you can find someone local to play live music for you! Or even bring your favorite playlist and play the music yourself. If not, let the sounds of the world around you sing during your elopement.

Add Culture

Wether it’s your culture(s) or the culture of the location you choose to elope, surround yourself with the beliefs and symbols that mean something to you or the land you stand on.

You already know this but

Two is better than one!

I try very hard to not be just another photographer. I LOVE what I do and want to make your experience as fun and valuable as possible.

One of the ways I do this is carrying two cameras on me, each with a different lens. One that gets the wide shots (the gorgeous world around us) and a telephoto lens that zooms in from far away (to get those detail shots without being in your face, and make the background appear larger).

That way, you will have a wide variation images you recieve back, and we can work quickly to get different shots and I can work quickly so there is little time of me stopping the flow of the day.

The telephoto lens will be your best friend, I can give you intimate moments from a distance while still getting close up images, and also make the background pop out and appear larger. Something few photographers usually do, that way you are getting the rare gems in the photography realm. Something different than everyone else. See an example of this below.

I’m just as excited as you!

I can visit the same place over and over and never get tired of how beautiful the world is. I can see a thousand sunsets out my window but I still get out to watch them every time. I often, OFTEN, yell out in excitement when getting the shot or photographing something amazing. I truly love what I do.

I always feel a tangible connection to nature, and often escape to it when my brain has too many tabs open. My family collects beautiful scenery like Halloween candy and we intentionally carve out several trips a year to get out and see a new corner of this diverse world we are in. I love nature on a spiritual level, mother nature is the best artist I’ve ever seen.

And you deserve someone like that to photograph you. Someone who sees the world like that.

Random side note

I love doing hair! Especially updos, and my updos DO NOT fall out even after dancing! I am on the spectrum and one of my biggest sensory triggers was hair touching my ears or neck so I spent YEARS learning a bunch of different way to do it and make it stay. It has come in handy quite a few times.

I’ve even done hair for several of my brides before so if you can’t find someone to do your hair, I got you. Send me a message.
